A photo of me after I missed my turn and ended up on a quiet beach with nothing but the sound of the tide and a single pelican that looked like he ran the place. I was reflecting on all of my amazing adventures. Such great memories with many more to come!
Hey,
It’s Woody.
You ever notice how the best parts of life usually happen when you’re not expecting them?
Last week, I meant to visit one of those big-name beaches—umbrella rentals, overcooked hot dogs, you know the type.
But I missed a turn. Ended up on a cracked road that led to a quiet stretch of sand with nothing but the sound of the tide and a single pelican that looked like he ran the place.
I sat down, took off my shoes, and thought,
“Well, this sure beats a $26 daiquiri.”
And it hit me:
The best moments? They’re never on the brochure.
They’re the accidental finds, the off-map adventures, the quiet wins nobody sees but you.
So this week, I wanted to share a few of those with you.
Not headlines. Not hype.
Just real things that made me feel more alive—and might do the same for you.
Let’s start with a beach you probably haven’t walked yet...

Let’s resume back to the beaches…
3 Florida Beaches You’ve Probably Never Been To
(And yes—one of them has zero cell service, which is kind of the point.)
If you're ready to skip the crowds and find your own patch of paradise, here are three sandy gems worth a detour:
Caladesi Island – Only reachable by ferry or kayak. You’ll hear birds, not Bluetooth speakers.
Honeymoon Island – Great for shelling, thinking, and falling asleep in a beach chair.
Fort De Soto North Beach – Wading-friendly water and soft sand that feels like powdered sugar.
👉 I’ll leave the full list for you here, in case you want to explore more of these quiet spots:

The fewer people on the beach, the more likely you are to remember it.
🧠 STAYIN’ ALIVE
Now, after a good beach nap and a sandwich, I started thinking.
Not about emails or errands—but about my brain.
And how much I want to keep using it for as long as I’ve got it.
So I looked into it.
According to the National Institute on Aging, there’s no miracle pill—but there are habits that seem to help keep memory loss at bay:
✅ Daily movement (even if it’s just walking the loop)
✅ Talking with people who don’t drain you
✅ Challenging your brain with something new
✅ Eating like someone who wants to feel good next week
👉 If you’re curious what actually works, the National Institute on Aging breaks it down in more detail:

You don’t need a better brain—you need better habits.
🧳 UNIQUE TRAVEL DESTINATION
A few days later, I found myself behind the wheel, doing that thing where you drive with no real plan—just looking for a place that feels like a story waiting to happen.
That’s how I ended up in a Southern mansion with green walls and jazz music echoing down the street.
I stayed in this Victorian Airbnb in Little Rock and liked it so much I extended my trip by two days.
Highlights:
A kitchen painted deep emerald with 1800s woodwork
A tub so deep I thought about calling it a pool
Quiet streets, good coffee, and the kind of stillness you don’t get in a hotel

😂 FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT
And just when I thought the week couldn’t get any better, I opened my phone and saw a message from my neighbor that was clearly meant for her chiropractor.
I laughed so hard I nearly dropped my tea.
That led me down a rabbit hole—and I found this list of real accidental texts. Honestly, it’s worth your time.

🔥 WOODY’S TAKE - (New Section)
Trend: People filming every single thing they do
Everywhere I go, someone’s holding a phone like they’re auditioning for a reality show.
Making coffee? Filmed.
Eating lunch? Filmed.
Walking across the street with sunglasses and a smoothie? Triple angle replay.
My take? If it didn’t happen on camera, maybe that’s what made it special.
I’m all for memories. But sometimes the best moments are the ones you don’t upload.

🧭 YOUR CHALLENGE THIS WEEK
Now, I’ve shared a few things that sparked something in me.
Here’s your turn.
Go somewhere new this week.
Not far. Just new.
Could be a park, a shop you’ve never stepped inside, or a bench in a part of town you usually just drive through.
When you get there… sit.
No phone. No watch. Just notice something.
If you do it, email me and tell me where you went. I’d love to hear about it.
And if this edition made you laugh, think, or plan a trip—forward it to someone who could use that same spark.
Next week, I’ll tell you about the time I accidentally signed up for goat yoga in Arizona. (Don’t ask. Just stay tuned.)
Until next time,
– Woody
